In my experience with Linux, I have had scant luck getting it working trying to follow older forum posts from years past and older kernels/drivers/distro versions. Software was easy to install and a driver is available through the software even if you are offline and don't have access to an ethernet connection. Hi, I am sadly well aware of the nightmare of Linux and Broadcom, especially my Netgear N300 (WNA3100/BCM43231) USB wireless adapter. The latter of which seems to have more/better product options. Also have to factor in your system requirements as well as what type of USB ports you have access to whether they are 2.0 or 3.0. I think if I had a dual band network router the process for finding a good adapter/dongle would have been much easier. You can just enter the passcode for your wi-fi instead if you can remember it from 4 years ago when you initially set it up :), we couldn't so the WPS was the best option. The WPS whenever you try to connect that way(tested at least 5 times) and every time it takes about 5-8 tries of pushing both devices WPS buttons to connect so that was my only concern with the product. I choose this particular adapter since it was also a Netgear and seemed to be compatible across the board and it is. Product: NETGEAR WNA3100M N300 Wireless Mini USB Adapter Hardware Class: Net. I have a wide open space between the router and the Netgear device, I might also add that the router I have is a Netgear N300. Welcome to the PC Matic Driver Library, the internets most complete and comprehensive source for driver information. Only problem I had was with the WPS but it eventually worked.
